Pastel Painting is the purest medium available. Pastels are pure pigments ground into a paste using small amounts of gum binder. No liquid binder is ever used that may cause the painting darken, crack or fade. Because of it's pure nature, Pastel Paintings will always remain as brilliant in color as the day they were created.

Pastels must not be confused with colored chalks which are limestone substances "impregnated" with dyes. The buttery texture that evolves during a painting allows the colors to mix on the paper instead of having to use a palette. This process is then fixed with a proper fixitave and when framed properly will have an eternal brilliance.
